Last Saturday, we supported the Brandon Estate growers and organised a wreath making workshop for the network and community members. Network members and the community, had the chance to to learn how to create their own wreath. The room was filled with old faces and new, all coming together to close the year creating a piece for their homes over the festive season.
It was a beautiful way to close the year together after the many events we have been able to hold this year.
The word wreath comes from the old English word writhen which means to writhe or to twist. And wreaths have different meanings in several cultures from being related to a sign of victory or an indication of status in Roman traditions to being a symbol of unity in many religious communities. And in more recently they have come to represent this festive period of the year and the joy of celebrating the season.
