Off of the main road, the garden for residents of 67-73 Kennington Park Road is a peaceful retreat for residents. Their garden is large, framed by mature trees – two large pines in either corner.
Last year, residents ran gardening clubs and the garden evolved into a hub of activities – including food growing, particularly uplifting for like-minded residents, to come together during the beginning of the pandemic. Large rhubarb is continuing to grow alongside sage and strawberries.
Hopes for the future of the space are to work around the garden, turning small plots into vegetable beds and creating a composting area and system for the garden. There is huge potential for increased activity in the area.
