Set up by community members in 2011, Glengall Wharf Garden is run by a dedicated team of volunteers and provides a space for local residents to attend volunteer gardening sessions, grow food and participate in a variety of workshops, ranging from permaculture and forest gardening, to balcony and inside growing. It is a peaceful oasis built by the community, for the community. Sustainability and ecological welfare are core to the garden’s philosophy and the team apply sustainable growing techniques and permaculture to develop the site as a place to build skills, community and wellbeing for all. Their projects are made possible by support they receive from a number of funding partners, including the National Lottery Community Fund and London Mayor.
